The Finnish Association for Applied Linguistics, AFinLA, is inviting nominations for the Afinlandia Award 2021 in the Master’s thesis series
The Finnish Association for Applied Linguistics, AFinLA (Association Finlandaise de Linguistique Appliquée), is an affiliate member organisation of the International Association for Applied Linguistics (AILA). AFinLA organises an annual Autumn Symposium, publishes two peer-reviewed publication series and provides information about research and events in applied linguistics in Finland and abroad. Applied linguistics studies linguistic activity from the perspectives of individuals, communities and societies based on multidisciplinary and social reality.

Language, change and society
AILA World Congress will be held from 15 August to 21 August 2021. The congress will be organized virtually by the University of Groningen.
This year the awardee is Karoliina Möttönen. In addition to the Afinlandia Award presented, AFinLA also wishes to recognize three Master’s thesis with an honorable mention.
